The temperature in Winnipeg is always below -25 which means that salt will not melt Ice.

Of course this means that there is ice everywhere. I have only fallen twice this winter, both times I was wearing my Gore-Tex boots but I have had so many close calls. People fall here all the time, it is just part of being in Winnipeg, they get up and keep going. They do not call an ambulance chaser, no they accept that winter is rough and sometimes ice forms. There is a lesson here.
